- EV energy management firm, Electric Miles, has launched its new chargepoint management system, emPACT (Electric Miles Platform for Accelerating Clean Technologies).
- This next-generation platform is set to offer new levels of control for organisations such CPOs, fleet operators, and bus depots, allowing them to optimise the efficiency of their electric vehicle fleet and related charging infrastructure.
- With growing demand placed on EV charging, bringing extra pressure to the electricity grid, Electric Miles is hoping its new solution will keep reliability and efficiency high for users.
Will Electric Miles’ new platform offer increased revenue and efficiency for EV charging operations?
Electric Miles’ new chargepoint management system allows for real-time control of EV chargers, built-in diagnostics and maintenance functions, as well as smart energy management. Combined, these features should streamline operations for those using the platform. Electric vehicles already have dramatically lower costs of ownership in commercial use compared to their ICE counterparts, but the use of efficiency-maximising platforms such as these in a commercial fleet setting are set to maximise that revenue potential even further.
The new platform’s modular design includes fleet management tools, diagnostics, and payment and revenue management systems. emPACT has also been made compatible with Open Charge Point Protocol (OCPP) 2.0.1, ensuring CPOs can stay compliant with the latest open standards for chargepoint communication. A key aspect that Electric Miles hopes will set emPACT out from the competition is the energy management aspect, which will use AI to select the most renewable and affordable tariffs, as well as the possibility for operators to participate in grid flexibility schemes – bringing higher levels of revenue to CPOs using the platform.
Electric Miles is already rolling out emPACT with initial partners such as Ryze Power and Vestel Mobility, with more partnerships yet to come.
