Project Plug-In: a first look at home charging rewards.

Project Plug-In is our upcoming rewards programme for flexible home charging. By choosing the best time to charge within your off-peak window, Electric Miles can help support the grid and share that value with eligible drivers. Your car still gets the charge it needs, by the time you need it, without changing your tariff or supplier.

Project Plug-In will roll out in stages, with eligible charging building your points in the background during the first phase. The next step is bringing those points and rewards into the Electric Miles app, where you can see what you have earned. We currently expect this to be available in November or December 2026.

For now, keep using smart charging as usual. This is an early update on what is taking shape; there is no new rewards feature to look for in the app today.

We will let you know when rewards are ready to view.

Pitching at the National Climate Tech Accelerator Innovation Showcase

On 17 September, our Founder & CEO Arun Anand took the stage at the National Climate Tech Accelerator (NCTA) Innovation Showcase, run by Sustainable Ventures and Barclays Eagle Labs, to pitch Electric Miles to a room of investors, corporates and fellow climate tech founders.

His message was simple: every EV is becoming an energy asset, and Electric Miles turns EV chargers into grid infrastructure. The proof points behind it: 20,000+ assets onboarded, 1.2M+ charging sessions, 30,000+ flex events delivered and 220 MW+ under contract.

Mobile charging, ready wherever demand takes it

Getting power to a site is one challenge. Making it simple for anyone to use is the next. This month we joined Kevin Daws, Technical Director at Evtec Charge, to put the Evtec i-Trailer through its paces, now running on emPACT. Our CEO Arun Anand and Chief of Staff Hamza Faraz tested it first-hand.

The experience is as simple as it gets: plug in, scan the QR code on the unit and start charging from your phone. No separate app, no charge card. Behind the scenes, emPACT lets renters and operators manage access, set tariffs and track every charging session.

Evtec Charge built the mobile hardware. Electric Miles built the software behind it. The integration is complete.

Next's Leicester charging hub: switching on in October

Working with EVTEC and Commercial, Electric Miles will manage the new EV charging hub at Next's Leicester head office. The chargers come pre-commissioned on emPACT, with load management and card payments built in. Switch-on is planned for October.

Electric Miles at EV Charge Live, with Vestel

From 22 to 24 September, the Electric Miles team was at EV Charge Live at The NEC, Birmingham, attending in collaboration with Vestel. Three days of conversations with charge point operators, fleets, installers and hardware partners about what comes next for UK charging.
